These are the tings that need to be done prior to WRS arrival at your location. Completion of these requirements will ensure the best frozen semen possible. ( ) The stallion must have a current coggins (EIA Test). Please enclose a copy. ( ) The stallion will need to be tested for EVA (Equine Viral Arteritis.". If stallion has already been tested or vaccinated for EVA, proof will need to be provided to WRS. ( ) The stallion will need to have a bacterial culture taken of his urethra and semen. The antibiotics below will need to be included on the sensitivity test:
( ) The stallion will need to have a clean-out collection performed at least once prior to freezing. This will need to be done no sooner than 48 hours before the first collection by WRS. If it is not possible for the stallion owner to get these collections performed, please contact WRS so we can schedule these important clean-out collections. ( ) A copy of the stallions registration papers will need to be submitted along with the freeze contract, copy of coggins, etc. If semen is to be shipped internationally, there are more requirements that must be met. These requirements are specific for different countries. Contact WRS immediately if theses are your intentions. |
